Cisco’s 2025 Cybersecurity Readiness Index assesses 8,000 business and cybersecurity leaders across 30 markets using five pillars: Identity Intelligence, Machine Trustworthiness, Network Resilience, Cloud Reinforcement, and AI Fortification. Only 4% of organizations reached the Mature stage, while 70% remained in the Formative or Beginner categories. AI is increasing both defensive possibilities and risk: 86% reported at least one AI-related security incident, yet only 45% believed they had sufficient expertise to conduct comprehensive AI security assessments. Machine Trustworthiness showed the highest maturity at 12%, while Cloud Reinforcement was lowest at 4%.
