2026 State of Revenue AI
Gong’s report frames 2025–2026 as the shift into an “AI Economy,” where intelligence (not just information) becomes the engine of productivity and growth for revenue teams. It argues that growth slowed in 2025 (avg. ~16% annual growth) and sales productivity plateaued as reps worked fewer opportunities, pushing leaders to treat productivity as the #1 growth lever for 2026. AI is now expected to be universal—leaders anticipate nearly all teams using it—but the report’s key point is depth of adoption matters: organizations making AI a core strategy report materially higher growth, win-rate improvement, and “commercial impact” (a composite of win rates, data quality, forecast accuracy, alignment, etc.). It also highlights a shift from task automation to decision intelligence (forecasting, strategic initiative measurement), and claims domain-specific “Revenue AI” delivers more impact than general-purpose AI. Finally, it positions AI as reshaping jobs more than eliminating them, and recommends elevating productivity to board-level focus, investing in revenue-domain AI, and using AI as an input to leadership decisions.
