While these tools boost productivity and efficiency, they are often adopted informally as shadow IT, creating new security risks. GenAI can introduce or expose vulnerabilities and may be weaponized by attackers. Instead of halting innovation, organizations need structured, secure adoption strategies. This survey highlights the urgency of establishing guidelines that allow teams to harness GenAI’s benefits while maintaining strong application security.
