CHATGPT AT WORK
Cyberhaven’s 2023 ChatGPT at Work report examines usage across 1.6 million workers and finds rapid workplace adoption alongside growing data security risks. By April 2023, 9.3% of employees had used ChatGPT at work, 7.5% had pasted company data into it, and 4% had entered sensitive information. Despite companies restricting access, usage continued to grow rapidly. Sensitive data sent to ChatGPT included internal information, source code, client data, PII, health data, and project files. From late February to mid-April, incidents involving confidential data increased 60.4%. The report highlights how generative AI productivity gains can introduce significant risks when employees share proprietary or regulated information with external AI tools.
