Financial Health Through a Gender Lens
This infographic-style report examines how gender dynamics shape financial health outcomes within Mexican savings and credit cooperatives. Drawing on BFA Global’s FinnSalud program, the report reveals that women often maintain stronger repayment histories and longer institutional relationships than men, yet still face barriers accessing larger financial products. The analysis highlights the importance of designing financial products around women’s motivations such as security, autonomy, and resilience rather than focusing only on product access. It also emphasizes the need for gender-disaggregated data, customer journey analysis, and institutional policies that support more inclusive financial systems and improve long-term financial wellbeing for underserved women.
