The May 2022 Workforce Report found that hiring activity remained strong despite persistent talent shortages. Compared with January 2021, overall hiring activity increased by 45%, while job openings rose by 46%, demonstrating continued employer demand for workers. However, job application growth lagged significantly at just 6%, creating a substantial gap between available jobs and candidate supply.
