This report examines the state of digital plant management in the food and beverage industry, highlighting challenges such as reliance on gut instinct over data and the growing need for a data‑driven approach. Based on a SafetyChain survey of 600 respondents across major North American manufacturing segments—including beverages, confectionery, dairy, poultry, meat, and produce—the analysis reflects insights from frontline staff, FSQA, operations, supplier management, and executives. The findings reveal how facilities are navigating digital adoption and the pressures shaping modern plant performance.
