5 Steps to Improve Defenses with MITRE ATT&CK
The MITRE ATT&CK framework provides a structured approach to strengthening cybersecurity defenses by helping organizations understand, simulate, detect, and mitigate real-world attack techniques. The process begins by establishing key inputs such as threat intelligence, indicators of compromise (IOCs), indicators of behavior (IOBs), and data gathered from security platforms and analytics tools. Organizations then create an Adversary Emulation Plan (AEP) to safely simulate attacker behaviors and identify gaps in their security posture. By running attack simulations, security teams can evaluate existing controls, improve threat detection capabilities, and enhance incident response processes. Insights gained from these exercises support alerting, threat hunting, reporting, and remediation eff
