Coder Agents: Native Coding Agents on Self-Hosted Infrastructure
Coder Agents provides a native, self-hosted agent experience that allows developers to delegate coding work while platform teams retain control over models, prompts, infrastructure, and security boundaries. Developers can begin conversations on one device, continue on another, review code changes, inspect branches, open IDEs, and use terminals or remote desktops without losing context. Persistent chats, automations, MCP tools, and reusable skills support long-running and specialized workflows. The agent loop remains in the Coder control plane, while compute workspaces are provisioned only when execution is required. Model credentials remain centralized rather than being exposed inside workspaces, and network access can be tightly scoped. Platform teams can standardize policies, track token
