Fortinet and Intel provide zero-touch onboarding for IoT endpoints by combining Intel Secure Device Onboard with FortiNAC and FortiGate. During manufacturing, a device receives credentials tied to its hardware root of trust and is preregistered with Intel SDO. When it connects, FortiNAC profiles it and places it in a restricted or internet-only segment. The device contacts its vendor cloud for verification, after which FortiNAC determines trust, moves it to the proper segment, and sends granular policies to FortiGate.
