Tier 3 maintains medium-term retention at a dedicated DR site with SafeMode-protected backup replicas. Tier 4 introduces an optional data bunker for long-term, one-way-in retention without dependency on legacy tape. Combined, the tiers reduce recovery time, enhance resilience, and protect against regional failures and ransomware.
