The VIAVI HiLAM Engineered Diffuser is a high‑efficiency Lambertian diffuser designed for uniform light scattering with a 120° divergence angle. Built with a polymer‑on‑glass material and a 1.56 refractive index at 633 nm, it offers a 95% clear center aperture and operates within a 400–2000 nm transmission range. The diffuser withstands temperatures from -50°C to 120°C and has a 20 J/cm² damage threshold. Divergence may vary with wavelength and beam collimation, while larger beam sizes enhance uniformity. Coherent sources may generate speckle, and the diffuser should be handled carefully, avoiding surface contact and cleaned using dry compressed air.
