Mitigating Risk from End-of-Support Edge Devices
This solution brief outlines CISA BOD 26-02, which requires Federal Civilian Executive Branch agencies to identify internet-accessible edge devices, determine whether they are end-of-support, and remove, replace, or mitigate unsupported systems. Agencies have approximately 90 days to complete identification and 12 months to address affected devices. The directive targets systems that are continuously exposed, operationally critical, difficult to inventory, and unable to receive vendor patches. Phosphorus supports compliance by discovering unmanaged IoT, OT, and cyber-physical devices, identifying vendors, firmware, support status, and vulnerabilities, and prioritizing remediation. Where immediate replacement is impractical, the platform supports credential hardening and scalable compensati
