Before testing, all connectors—launch cables, bulkheads, and patch cords—must be inspected and cleaned with a P5000i or FiberChek probe until they pass inspection. After connecting to the fiber under test, the Expert OTDR configures parameters, runs traces, and displays detailed fiber characteristics to locate faults, reflections, and loss events.
