The T‑BERD/MTS‑5800 can perform 5G NR Discovery by identifying MAC addresses, VLAN IDs, IPv6 addresses, and protocols for single or cascaded 5G radios. Before testing, all fiber connections must be inspected and cleaned with a VIAVI P5000i or FiberChek probe until they pass inspection. Once connected, the tester analyzes traffic on front‑haul or mid‑haul links to reveal network elements and configuration details. This helps technicians verify connectivity, detect provisioning issues, and validate proper integration of 5G radio units within the transport network.
