The T‑BERD/MTS‑5800 can perform IEEE 1588v2 PTP verification for frequency distribution in an ITU‑T G.8265.1 telecom profile architecture. Using the TEM V2 Timing Expansion Module on a 1 GigE optical interface, the tester measures PTP timing accuracy, packet delay, and frequency synchronization. The procedure, demonstrated with IPv6 and no VLAN tagging, can also be applied to other Ethernet speeds, VLAN configurations, IPv4, or GNSS‑based setups on the 5800‑100G or 5882 platforms. This workflow validates precise network timing essential for mobile backhaul, synchronization‑dependent services, and modern packet‑based timing networks.
