The T‑BERD/MTS‑5800 can verify IEEE 1588v2 PTP performance for time distribution in an ITU‑T G.8275.2 telecom profile architecture with partial timing support. Using the TEM V2 Timing Expansion Module on a 1 GigE optical interface with IPv4, the tester measures synchronization accuracy, packet delay, and timing stability, with the same workflow applicable to other Ethernet rates, VLAN configurations, and IPv6. The procedure also supports GNSS-enabled setups on the 5800‑100G or 5882 platforms. This test process ensures reliable time distribution across networks that rely on partial timing support.
