OVSDB Emulation, now part of VIAVI’s Spirent TestCenter portfolio, supports the Open vSwitch Database Management Protocol (RFC 7047) to configure and learn emulated topologies such as OpenFlow switch and VXLAN emulations. It allows topologies to write configurations and counters into the OVSDB database for controller access, while Spirent TestCenter can view or export this data. VXLAN VTEPs can learn via OVSDB instead of multicast or EVPN. Features include TLS‑secured connections and tight integration with Spirent’s OpenFlow environments, enabling flexible, controller‑driven SDN testing.
