Spirent TestCenter’s Shortest Path Bridging emulation, now part of VIAVI, enables testing of large‑scale data center switches and fabrics by emulating multiple SPB adjacencies, hundreds of nodes, and thousands of links. It generates SPB traffic using 802.1ah MAC‑in‑MAC encapsulation and supports thousands of ISIDs and MAC addresses for high‑scale validation. The solution can also be combined with Ethernet OAM fault management tools to test 802.1aq SPB alongside 802.1ag connectivity fault management, ensuring comprehensive performance, monitoring, and interoperability testing for modern SPB‑based networks.
