This package delivers pre‑programmed tests based on IETF RFC 2889 for benchmarking Layer 2 switches. It includes test cases to measure throughput, frame loss, and forwarding rates using fully meshed or customized traffic patterns, as well as device behavior under congestion. Additional tests assess forward pressure, maximum forwarding rate, address caching capacity, learning rate, and switch response to abnormal or error frames. It also measures throughput and latency during broadcast forwarding. The solution enables quick baselining of existing devices and helps uncover performance limitations in LAN switching environments.
