Engineered Diffusers are typically used by directing a collimated light beam onto the patterned side of the substrate, which is essential for large‑angle diffusers to avoid internal reflection and ensure proper performance. Incidence from the flat side is possible only when scatter angles are small. Collimated illumination is recommended because sharp output features can blur when the incident light diverges. This setup enables the diffuser to shape light effectively for applications requiring controlled, uniform output.
