Telecom Provider Optimizes Security Platform Performance
This white paper describes how a telecom provider improved visibility and security-tool performance across a large hybrid network. The company needed to forward traffic from 96 monitored links, producing 192 TAP outputs, into two security platforms with only eight available input ports. Profitap deployed high-density modular TAPs, Booster In-Line Copper TAPs, and an X2-Series network packet broker to consolidate and optimize the traffic. Breakout connections enabled multiple TAP outputs to feed high-speed broker ports, while aggregation, filtering, packet slicing, and load balancing ensured each security tool received the appropriate data. The solution supported mixed fiber and copper media, managed thousands of non-conflicting rules, and centralized all traffic within one broker. It remov
