Adapture Jumps into Action Amidst CrowdStrike Outage
This success story describes how Adapture supported an established fire and life safety company during the July 19, 2024 CrowdStrike outage after an update caused its Azure-hosted environment to fail and about 100 virtual machines to go offline, threatening critical business operations. The company had previously worked with Adapture to migrate aging servers into Azure for a cost-effective VM-based setup, but lacked internal capacity to coordinate recovery during a global incident. Adapture quickly organized a response, convening a multi-party call with its security operations partner Abacode and the remote service desk, then developed and shared step-by-step instructions to resolve the BSOD loop when reboots failed. After an eight-hour recovery effort, the servers were restored by 9 p.m.
