Alstom sets digital clone on the right track
Alstom partnered with DXC Technology to modernize traffic management for the city of Amsterdam by building a scalable and secure digital platform. The challenge was to upgrade legacy systems, address IT skills gaps, and ensure flexibility for future needs. The solution used a software-defined data center and VMware-based private cloud supported by DXC hybrid and multicloud services. This approach enabled the rapid creation of a digital clone of Amsterdam’s traffic system in just a few weeks. The hyperconverged platform was later reused for additional projects, allowing Alstom to replicate the model and deliver greater agility, faster deployment, and improved operational efficiency across transportation initiatives.
