Armstrong Utilities upgraded from a video-on-demand system used for more than 15 years to a modern TiVo-based television platform. The cable provider needed encryption that was easy to integrate, widely accepted by content owners, and capable of supporting a broad selection of native streaming services. Verimatrix VCAS was selected because existing interfaces with TiVo allowed the solution to fit quickly into Armstrong’s infrastructure. The secure platform simplified the VOD launch, protected premium content, and reduced customers’ dependence on separate streaming devices while preserving their freedom to use them.
