Case Study
Bringing Clarity and Sustainability to Probiotics
Facing UK regulations that prohibited the use of the term “probiotic,” Optibac partnered to redefine its brand positioning and strengthen its leadership in a rapidly growing, competitive digestive health market. Through qualitative research, semiotic analysis, and a sustainability review, the brand developed a simplified identity, clearer range architecture, and redesigned packaging. The transformation reduced over 100 SKUs to 52, cut packaging variants from 13 cartons to 7, and achieved a 90% reduction in plastic use, with over 96% reduction for selected products. The rebrand secured new listings in Boots, Tesco, Waitrose, and Sainsbury’s, while launching Optibac’s first advertising campaign to reinforce brand recognition and consumer trust.
