Markforged helped KST Moschkau dramatically reduce production costs and lead times by using the FX20 3D printer to manufacture durable, high-quality housings and components in-house. This shift from outsourcing multiple aluminum parts to additive manufacturing cut lead times from 3-4 weeks down to 2 days and reduced production costs to one-sixth. The use of Onyx material with continuous carbon fiber reinforcement ensured components that match the strength and finish of traditional aluminum while being lighter and weather-resistant, enhancing reliability and flexibility in production.
