Bush Bohlman & Partners used Altair S-TIMBER to design a sustainable hybrid timber structure for the BCIT student plaza. The project required balancing architectural vision, structural safety, and carbon footprint reduction. Engineers modeled complex CLT and steel elements while accounting for local timber design codes and irregular geometry. S-TIMBER enabled hybrid analysis, automated modeling updates, and detailed code checks as design requirements evolved. The team successfully simulated two-way bending behavior and optimized structural performance without excessive manual calculations. The result was a resilient, low-carbon structure delivered efficiently, with improved collaboration and faster design validation throughout the project lifecycle.
