An IT manager was tasked with monitoring server utilization and forecasting when infrastructure capacity limits would be reached to plan timely hardware investments. Previously, this work relied on manually maintained Excel spreadsheets, making real-time analysis and trend forecasting difficult and time-consuming. To improve accuracy and efficiency, a digitized capacity management approach was introduced using an analytics tool that collects data directly from system sensors. The solution presents utilization metrics in a standardized view and performs automated trend analysis, enabling proactive capacity planning. This eliminated manual data entry, provided real-time insights, improved forecasting reliability, and allowed the IT team to make informed decisions about future infrastructure
