Drakes Supermarkets, a family-owned grocery retailer with over $1 billion in annual turnover and more than 5,500 employees nationwide, focuses strongly on customer experience and support for local suppliers. Following significant growth, Drakes became independent from former partner Metcash in late 2019 for its South Australian operations, aiming to rebrand and build a fully self-sufficient supply chain. To support this strategy, the company developed a new South Australian warehouse designed to maximize order picking productivity. The facility enables Drakes to improve efficiency, strengthen supply chain control, and support continued growth in the competitive grocery market.
