IRIAM Cut Costs with Strategic Cloud Migration
IRIAM, one of Japan's leading VTuber live-streaming platforms, partnered with Akamai Cloud to dramatically reduce infrastructure costs while preserving its ultra-low-latency streaming experience. Serving more than 4.25 million users, IRIAM relies on its proprietary Motion Live technology to deliver conversations with just 0.1 seconds of latency. However, outbound network fees from its previous hyperscale cloud provider accounted for more than one-third of infrastructure costs. By migrating its distribution servers to Akamai Cloud, IRIAM virtually eliminated egress fees, reduced overall distribution server costs to between one-third and one-tenth of previous levels, and cut server costs by roughly 50%.
