Case Study
Managing intellectual property rights in Switzerland by automating core processes
The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property modernized the management of intellectual property rights by automating its core processes with Camunda. Based in Bern, the IPI is responsible for examining, granting, and administering trademarks, patents, and designs in Switzerland, as well as handling parts of international applications. Since 2014, Camunda has supported business-driven development through a developer-friendly, open architecture that enables direct system integration without an ESB. Process automation improved efficiency, transparency, and adaptability across intellectual property workflows, allowing the institute to reliably manage complex regulatory processes while maintaining flexibility and long-term scalability.
