The client, a global Tier 1 bank with over $3 trillion in assets and more than 60 million customers worldwide, needed to migrate its SEPA Credit Transfer and Direct Debit payments from a legacy system to its modern in‑house payments platform. This shift was required due to regulatory changes mandating the use of ISO 20022 v2019 messages for STEP2 clearing beginning November 2023. Since the legacy systems could not support the new message standard, all SEPA traffic needed to be moved to the bank’s future‑ready platform. The migration aimed to consolidate payment processing, ensure regulatory compliance and strengthen the bank’s long‑term payments infrastructure.
