Case Study
Mobile On-Board Training System supporting the Royal Australian Navy
The Royal Australian Navy implemented a Mobile On‑Board Training System to overcome limited simulator availability and enable realistic training directly on operational ANZAC frigates. The challenge was to train entire ship crews together in a live environment while supporting future enhancements such as joint and networked simulator training. A small, portable solution with high‑performance processing was developed to deliver real‑time training simulations operating in a 24‑hour environment. The system provided fully tailored training scenarios that responded dynamically to crew actions. As a result, the Navy significantly reduced costs, logistical complexity, time, and dependence on additional RAN and ADF aircraft, vessels, and resources, while improving training quality and effectivenes
