LAND, a business of AMETEK, partnered with Altair to improve planning and installation of furnace borescope thermal imagers. Accurately predicting cooling requirements was challenging due to varying furnace conditions, often leading to delays and costly redesigns. Using validated CFD models and Altair romAI, LAND developed an AI-driven reduced-order model trained on hundreds of simulations. The model predicted thermocouple temperatures in seconds with an average error of approximately 9%. Engineers without CFD expertise could now evaluate scenarios using a simple interface, improving accuracy, reducing installation risk, and enabling faster, safer deployment of thermal monitoring systems across industrial environments.
