AML fraud flags
Certain customer behaviors can signal potential money laundering or financial risk. Warning signs include a stronger interest in early termination features than investment performance, frequent borrowing or withdrawals soon after purchasing financial products, and providing minimal or suspicious identifying information. Clients who lack clear ties to the local community or cannot justify their business relationships may also raise concerns. Additionally, unusual transaction patterns—such as large single premiums, repeated high-value payments, or unconventional methods like cash—can indicate elevated risk. Recognizing these red flags allows organizations to conduct better due diligence, strengthen compliance, and prevent fraudulent or illicit financial activity.
