This report examines nearly 29.8 billion encrypted threats blocked between October 2022 and September 2023, highlighting how attackers increasingly exploit HTTPS traffic to evade detection. Encrypted attacks increased by 24.3% year over year, with 85.9% of threats delivered through encrypted channels. Malware remained the dominant category, followed by ad spyware, phishing, browser exploits, and cryptojacking, while manufacturing was the most targeted industry. The report also presents case studies on malware families such as ChromeLoader and Agent Tesla, analyzes geographic and industry attack trends, and recommends comprehensive TLS/SSL inspection, Zero Trust architecture, continuous monitoring, and advanced threat detection to defend against encrypted cyberattacks.
