Every Cursor Needs a Coder: Governing Enterprise AI Coding Tools
Coder on AWS enables organizations to use AI coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and custom agents inside centrally managed development environments rather than uncontrolled laptops. This approach addresses limited auditability, excessive developer permissions, sensitive-data exposure, inconsistent tooling, and high local compute demand. Coder runs inside the organization’s AWS account and integrates with SSO, IAM, monitoring, and observability systems, supporting data sovereignty and air-gapped requirements. Workspaces are defined as code with Terraform so every developer receives consistent tools, controls, and policies. Teams can provision GPUs and parallel agent environments while using quotas, usage tracking, bin-packing, and automated shutdowns to manage costs.
