This application note explains how to upload almanac and ephemeris data to the CLAW GPS Simulator, RSR Transcoder, and Micro Transcoder to simulate current or historical GPS constellations. This capability is useful for recreating conditions from past events or matching a target receiver’s stored satellite data. VIAVI provides the simnav command‑line utility, included with the SimCon installation, to convert RINEX ephemeris files into the required simulation format before uploading them to the device. This process enables accurate GPS constellation replication for testing and troubleshooting purposes.
