A Melbourne-based financial services company modernized its database platform to support reliability, performance, and future growth. Its existing Oracle Exadata environment was nearing end of life and was five generations behind current technology, while an impending data centre relocation increased the risk of maintaining outdated systems. To address these challenges, the organization completed a comprehensive build, upgrade, and migration from an Exadata X2-2 to a new Exadata X7-2 platform. The project was delivered across three coordinated phases, with multiple teams and vendors working in parallel under DXC’s overall project management. The transformation resulted in improved database performance, greater availability, and a more cost‑effective, scalable platform.
