Case Study
Reducing CAUTI by 38%: Case Study in eLearning CAUTI Prevention Courseware
A large healthcare system reduced catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI)—the most common hospital-acquired condition—by implementing Amplifire’s adaptive training. Traditional education failed to address critical knowledge gaps and misconceptions among clinicians. The program trained over 8,000 clinicians and identified significant Confidently Held Misinformation™, including 43% of nurses and 58% of providers misunderstanding key topics (page 2). Amplifire corrected over 26,000 misinformation instances and achieved 100% proficiency across learners. As shown on page 9, CAUTI rates dropped by 38% (from 1.000 to 0.615 infections per 1,000 catheter days). The study demonstrates how targeted, data-driven learning can directly improve patient outcomes and reduce preventable harm.
