Knocking Out 79% of CLABSI: Case Study in eLearning CLABSI Prevention Courseware
A large healthcare system tackled high rates of central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), a costly and often preventable condition with significant mortality risk. Traditional approaches failed to address underlying knowledge gaps among nurses. Using Amplifire’s adaptive learning platform, 536 nurses completed targeted CLABSI prevention training that identified Confidently Held Misinformation™ and knowledge uncertainty. The platform personalized learning paths and ensured full proficiency across all participants. Results were dramatic: CLABSI rates dropped by 79.4% (from 1.36 to 0.28 infections per thousand line-days) within 10 months.
