This solution brief presents an integrated system for calibrating and characterizing active phased array antennas used in satellite, radar, 5G, aerospace, and defense applications. It combines a compact antenna test range, PNA-X network analyzer, VXG signal generator, positioner, thermal-control hardware, and Antenna Measurement Toolset software. Keysight’s calibration algorithm measures and corrects the phase and amplitude of individual array elements, reducing calibration of a 1,024-element array from hours to under one minute. The system supports leakage correction, beam scans, radiation patterns, EIRP, G/T, EVM, ACPR, gain compression, polarization, return loss, sidelobe analysis, and thermal testing from -40°C to +100°C, improving accuracy and accelerating verification.
