Bloom Electrolyzer: The World’s Most Efficient Hydrogen Electrolyzer
This datasheet presents the Bloom Electrolyzer, a solid oxide electrolysis system designed to produce green hydrogen at high efficiency. Using high-temperature electrolysis, it requires less electrical energy to split steam than low-temperature alternatives and delivers a stated system efficiency of 37.5 kWh/kg. The modular design supports continuous operation and concurrent maintenance, while the hydrogen stream contains no oxygen, eliminating the need for deoxygenation units. A 1.2 MW block produces about 770 kg of hydrogen per day, with configurations scalable in 1.2 MW increments. Specifications include a warm start-up of about 10 minutes, 800 VDC electrical input, 25 mbar(g) hydrogen output pressure, and operation from -20°C to 45°C.
