Case Study
NCAA March Madness Generates 1.2 Million Mobile Impressions with San Francisco Event Advertising
This case study describes how the NCAA combined outdoor media and mobile targeting to promote March Madness games at San Francisco’s Chase Center. The campaign used eight large-format walls, three bulletins, and multiple Liveboards at Caltrain’s busy 4th and King station. Proximity targeting across the San Francisco market focused on basketball fans, sports enthusiasts, and potential tournament attendees. Creative prominently featured the March Madness bracket, bold typography, and high-contrast visuals, while mobile banner ads linked directly to the NCAA Men’s Final Four website. The campaign delivered 1.2 million mobile impressions and generated 1,388 clicks, producing a 0.11% click-through rate and extending event awareness beyond the physical advertising locations.
