MicroNIR Sampling Distance

Pages 2 Pages

Near‑infrared spectroscopy is useful for analyzing powders, liquids, solids, and slurries with little or no sample preparation, allowing faster testing and higher throughput. When developing an NIR method, proper sample presentation to the MicroNIR is essential because the distance between the sample and the spectrometer strongly affects the resulting spectra. The MicroNIR uses two tungsten lamps whose illumination fields overlap to create an optimal measurement zone. Ensuring consistent positioning within this zone minimizes variability and improves spectral accuracy and method reliability.
